Tried the famous Mame Daifuku from Futaba in Demachiyanagi!

Soft, chewy mochi filled with lightly salted black beans and mildly sweet red bean paste — the balance is just perfect. I was expecting a long line, but it wasn’t too crowded and I only waited about 15 minutes. Totally worth it!
I also picked up their cha dango (green tea dumplings), which had a refined, not-too-sweet flavor. A perfect match with green tea!
And the wrapping? Absolutely beautiful — simple, traditional, and full of Kyoto charm.
