Discover the miniature world of Tatsuya Tanaka at Kyoto Takashimaya — a playful exhibition exploring everyday objects in extraordinary ways, open from mid-September to early October 2025.
From September 12 to October 6, 2025, Takashimaya Kyoto presents Tatsuya Tanaka Exhibition: Mitate no Kumitate (MINIATE LIFE MITATE MIND) at the 7th floor Grand Hall. This exhibition showcases about 160 photographs and three-dimensional works divided into seven zones—HOME, FORM, COLOR, SCALE, MOTION, LIFE, WORLD—each revealing aspects of Tanaka’s creative process and his ability to re-imagine the ordinary.
Visitors can freely take photos of all works (flash and tripods not allowed), enjoy several photo-spots with large installations, meet popular characters from storybooks, and participate in interactive displays. On certain morning sessions, advance booking via e-plus is required.
