Gozan no Okuribi (Myo・妙) from Takaragaike Driving School, Matsugasaki

August 17, 2025 / Events, review

I watched the Myo (妙) bonfire of the Gozan no Okuribi from the Takaragaike Driving School in Matsugasaki, and it was absolutely amazing. The view was so close and clear, and unlike the more crowded spots in the city, it wasn’t packed at all. That made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. They even had […]

Worth the Wait: Fumiya’s Broth & Curry Udon 🍛

August 16, 2025 / Food, review

I stopped by Fumiya in Nishiki Market and tried their Fumiya Nabe and curry udon — both were amazing! I had to wait a little, but honestly, the flavor made it worth every minute. The broth was so rich and comforting, I could drink it all day. The atmosphere felt cozy and very Kyoto. I’m […]

McDonald’s at Aeon Mall Kitaōji

August 2, 2025 / Food, review

I visited the McDonald’s inside Aeon Mall Kitaōji and tried the Fillet-O-Fish along with the “Chunky Potato Thick Beef Burger.” I’ve often heard that McDonald’s in Japan is known for its high quality, and I can confirm—it’s true! The Fillet-O-Fish was fresh and tasty, while the burger with chunky potatoes and juicy beef was filling […]

Animate Kawaramachi – Smaller but Packed with Fun!

July 28, 2025 / Attractions, review

I visited Animate Kawaramachi the other day! Compared to the Avanti store, it felt smaller, but it was packed with so many cool goods. I was super happy because I found the Demon Slayer items I wanted, and I even got to try the Hikari ga Shinda Natsu gacha. On top of that, I spotted […]

Chiikawa Collab at Kura Sushi – So Cute!

July 23, 2025 / Attractions, Events, Food, review

I visited the Kura Sushi Kyoto Kitayama branch during their Chiikawa collaboration and had a blast! There weren’t any special plates, but the themed menu and Bikkura Pon game were so cute. I was lucky enough to win two Chiikawa prizes from the capsule game! Seeing the characters on the touch screen and getting the […]

Fun Day of Oshi-Katsu at Animate Kyoto!

July 6, 2025 / Attractions, review

I visited Animate Kyoto at Avanti near Kyoto Station and had a great time doing some oshi-katsu! I was so happy to get the can badge and postcard of Yōkai Gakkō no Sensei Hajimemashita — exactly the ones I was hoping for! It’s always fun when your favorite character shows up in a blind pack. […]

Visited the famous CoCo Ichibanya near Shimogamo Shrine!

June 24, 2025 / Food, review

This branch, just a ~10‑minute walk from Shimogamo Shrine, was surprisingly uncrowded—highly recommended for a peaceful curry break. I was starving, so I loaded up my curry with scrambled egg, cheese and cream croquette, and went for 400 g rice at spice level 1. Delicious overload! I’m pretty sure I’ll be back soon😋

Tried the famous Mame Daifuku from Futaba in Demachiyanagi!

June 21, 2025 / Food, review

Soft, chewy mochi filled with lightly salted black beans and mildly sweet red bean paste — the balance is just perfect. I was expecting a long line, but it wasn’t too crowded and I only waited about 15 minutes. Totally worth it! I also picked up their cha dango (green tea dumplings), which had a […]
