Jellyfish, Umbrellas & Wind Chimes at Kyoto Aquarium
May 31, 2025 – September 30, 2025

Enjoy a delicate summer evening at Kyoto Aquarium: over 170 hand-made jellyfish wind chimes, traditional Japanese umbrellas, and night-time illumination combine to create a poetic “cool” atmosphere from late May through September.
From May 31 to September 30, 2025, “Jellyfish, Umbrellas & Wind Chimes” transforms Kyoto Aquarium into a summer wonderland of art and atmosphere. Experience approximately 170 wind chimes shaped like jellyfish, representing 24 species of jellyfish, alongside beautifully crafted Kyō-wagasa (traditional umbrellas) evoking jellyfish gliding underwater. After 6:00 PM, the installations are enhanced with lighting for an evocative night ambiance.
The exhibit is included with regular aquarium admission, so visitors can enjoy both marine life and this special artistic display. Ideal for families, couples, art lovers, and anyone who wants to enjoy a cooler, more relaxed way to spend summer evenings in Kyoto.
