Daitoku-ji Kōrin-in: Special Autumn Opening
Experience a serene Zen atmosphere at Kōrin-in, a sub-temple of Daitoku-ji. Built by the Noto lord Yoshifusa Hatakeyama in the Muromachi period and later supported by the warlord Toshiie Maeda, the temple preserves important cultural properties such as its Front Gate and the elegant Main Hall.
The hojo (abbot’s quarters) garden, restored by renowned landscape architect Kinsaku Nakane—often called the “Enshū of the Shōwa era”—is especially beautiful against the crimson foliage of autumn.
Please note that details may change and some dates may be suspended due to temple services.
Highlights
- Historic Zen architecture from the Muromachi period
- Garden restoration by Kinsaku Nakane
- Quiet grounds within the Daitoku-ji temple complex
